FLUORIDATION PLANS
Committee To Continue Campaign (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. December 1. Although fluoridation proposals had been heavily defeated in referendums in eight centres at the recent municipal elections, the fluoridation committee set up by the Board of Health would continue its campaign as previously, said the Director-General of Health (Dr. H. B. Turbott) today. He said the committee believed the best way of reducing dental decay on a large scale was the fluoridation of water supplies, and would continue to advise and assist local authorities on the matter.
Dr. R. G. T. Lewis, Deputy-Director-General of Health, was the new chairman of the committee, he said.
