NO CURRENCY PROBLEMS
The owner-trainer of Apmat, M. Anderson, would have no currency difficulties should his horse win prize money in New Zealand, said the assistant secretary of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club (Mr J. Rowley) yesterday. Mr Rowley was commenting on a message from Sydney published yesterday saying that unless currency difficulties could be overcome Apmat would not make the trip to contest the New Zealand Cup. Efforts are at present being made to enable Apmat to sail earlier than planned on the Wanganella. which is due to arrive in Wellington on October 27. This would enable Apmat to be worked for a few days at Addington before contesting the New Zealand Cup Trial at a matinee meeting to be run by the Canterbury Trotting Owners’ and Breeders’ Association on November 3.
