Two Forwards Unable

Two Kiwi test forwards. C. R. Johnson (Auckland) and T. R. Kilkelly (West Coast) have had to withdraw from the inter-island Rugby League match in Auckland on Saturday, because of injury. Johnson, the New Zealand captain, has injured his ribs and will be replaced in the front row of the North Island team by the former Kiwi, J. Yates.

Kilkelly, a second-row forward, was hurt at work,, and his replacement, according to the secretary of the New Zealand League (Mr J E. Knowling) will be the young West Coast forward, B. Gardiner. Gardiner was a test reserve against the English team last season. F. Tinning (Canterbury) has been moved up into the South Island reserves.
