Auckland Teams In Lead
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. August 25. Auckland A and South Auckland, the present champions, moved to the head of the points table in the New Zealand schoolboy League tournament, which continued at Carlaw Park today.
Canterbury Is in third position with two points. West Coast and Auckland B, which drew today, are next with one point eacn, and Wellington has yet to open its account. The Lipscombe Cup race for individual competition, was won bv K Williams (Auckland), and Auckland A took the Morris Cup for the team relay event. Results:—West Coast 10. Auckland B 10: South Auckland 15. Canterbury 8. Auckland A 28. Wellington 8.
85 Ships For West German Navy.— The West German Navy has placed orders in small and medium West German shipyards for 85 ships between 20 and 4500 gross registered tons, the Hamburg Economic and Transport Magazine “Wirtschafts-Correspon-dent” reported. About £27,000,000 has been set aside for the vessels. —Bonn.
