Auckland Team To Play Canterbury
(New Zealana Press Association) AUCKLAND. August 25. The former Auckland hockey goalkeeper. J. Gordon, is coming out of "representative retirement" to play m the Auckland team that will challenge Canterbury for the Challenge Shield at Christchurch on September 12. The team was announced today in alphabetical order as part of a tactical plan not to reveal the playing positions till the day of the match
The team is:— G. Buxton, P. Bygrave, D. Chatfield. J Gordon, T. Hayde. R. Goulding. G. McGregor. M. Rendle. G. Swift. M. Wollan, B. Whinerav. Reserves: M. O'Connor, P. Knight.
