J. W. Jackson Has Third Win

The Waitakiri player, J. W. Jack- 1 son. scored his third win in the annual open tournament of the Rangiora Golf Club yesterday with rounds of 76 and 78 for a total of 154 He beat R. E. Clements by two strokes Jackson won the tournament previously in 1948 and 1950 Jackson drove well all day, but although the greens were plaving well, he had some lapses when putting for birdies. Jackson and Clements both completed the first round in 76, and with nine to plav J< ?k--son held a one-stroke advantage. He P‘ayed steadily over the lest five holes after Clements had air-; taken 39 on the inward half • came in in 38.
