A New Zealand film producer, Mr Roger Mirams, announced today that contracts have been signed for 52 episodes of his children's film, serial. “The Adventures of the Terrible Ten,” to be shown over Australian television stations. Mr Mirams plans to make some of the episodes in New Zealand. The serial will be sponsored by the Bank of New South Wales Savings Bank, and will be shown in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane at one of the most popular Sunday night television times. Five of the 10 children featured in the film .are children of New Zealanders living in Melbourne. Associated with Mr Mirams in the production are,Mr C. Stewart, of Dunedin (production manager) and Mr J. Davies, of Christchurch (recording engineer). Commenting today on the announcement, the Melbourne “Age” Said:

“News of an Australian-made commercial television feature triumphing, in spite of its cost, over syndicated American ‘canned’ goods seems to us to be good news. "Roger Mirams, the producer whose company, Pacific Films, makes the series, estimates that for the price of their sponsorship on GTV-9 the bank could have had three American ‘canned’ programmes,” the “Age” said.- . “Mr Mirams has already made five episodes of "Terrible Ten” adventures (the first two won a bronze award in the Australian film festival this year) and is off this week-end to make a sixth at Macedon.”
