Second Win In Australia

MELBOURNE, Jan. 22 The New Zealand Universities’ touring tennis team today beat the Victorian Army team by 10 matches to 0, at Albert Park, Melbourne. The win gave the visitors their second victory in two days. Yesterday they beat Royal South Yarra 8-2 in their first Australian match. Today, the University players overwhelmed their opponents, being superior in every department of the game. Tomorrow the New Zealanders will, leave for Wangaratta, 150 miles from Melbourne, where they will compete in a tournament on Saturday. Sunday, and Monday. - Results of today’s matches (New Zealand players first):— Men’s Singles.—B. Woolf beat G. Soloman, 6-1, 6-2; G. Roberts beat W Brydie. 6-4, 6-4; G. Judge beat GTaylor. 6-1, 6-0; F Scarlett beat B Ashen. 6-0. 6-0. Men’s Doubles.—Woolf and Judge beat Soloman and A. Jacobv, 6-0. 7-5; Roberts and Scarlett beat A. McAlister and K. Roney. 6-4, 7-5. Women’s Doubles. Misses J Glenie and G. Hopkinson beat Misses M. Down and A. McArdle. 6-0, 6-0; beat Misses M. Lincoln and M. Frankcombe, 6-0, 6-2; Misses J. Kent and J. Little beat Misses Down and McArdle, 6-0, 6-1; beat Misses Lincoln and Frankcombe, 6-2, 8-2.
