Pakistan Premier Sworn In

General Mohammed Ayub Khan, Pakistan’s Chief Martial Law Administrator, was today sworn in as Prime Minister to head a new 12-man Central Cabinet announced by President Iskander Mirza last Friday. General Ayub has administered the martial law proclaimed earlier this month by President Mirza when he took over the country and made sweeping changes in the Government’s administrative structure. General Ayub remains Martial Law Administrator and has also been given the portfolios of Defence and Kashmiri Affairs. Sir Reginald May Dead.—The death is announced today of General Sir Reginald May, who was Quartermaster-General to the British Forces for four years up to his retirement from the Army in 1939. He was 79. Sir Reginald May, a Colonel of the Royal Fusiliers, from 1941 to 1949. was chairman from 1919 to 1929 of the Toe H movement.—London,October 27.
