Air Force Association Holds Ball
The Christchurch branch of the Air Force Association held a “Battle of Britain” dance at the R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Wigram on Fridty night. About 250 attended. Guests were received by the president (Mr L. G. Merrin) and Mrs Merrin.
Among those specially invited were Flight Lieutenant E. T. Lunn, and Flight Lieutenant H. T. Bell.
The dance was organised by the following committee: Mesdames Merrin, V. McDonnell, S. E. Lennon, W. McLennan, Mr S. J. Parker «id Mrs Parker, and Misses Y. Pearson and J. Palmer. Mrs Merrin wore a cocktail gown of black nylon over taffeta. The sleeveless bodice had a wide collar trimmed with broderie Anglaise.
