The Prime Minister (Mr Nash) will fly to Invercargill today to lay the foundation stone of Southland’s new freezing works at Lorneville in the afternoon. In the evening, he will address a Rotary meeting and attend another public function. Mr Nash will return by air to Wellington tomorrow morning.—(P.A.)
Mr R. T. Buckley has been appointed a tnember of the Burnham Domain Board. He replaces Mr T. C. Currie, who has resigned.
Mr G. J. Watts, secretary of the Gisborne Trades Council, has been selected by the Government to represent New Zealand trade unionists in Geneva at a social study course sponsored by the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions. Mr Watts will leave by air late in August and will be absent from New Zealand for 10 to 12 weeks.— (P.A.)
