(From Our Own Reporter) KAIKOURA, June 6.
Two men suffered injuries this afternoon when the utility vehicle in which they were travelling southwards on the Main Highway at Kekerangu, 38 miles north of Kaikoura, failed to negotiate a bend and became out of control. They were, John Anthony Dobson Sandell, aged 21, a musterer of Upton Fells, Awatere; and Keith Desmond Compton, aged 30, a musterer, of Dunsandel. Mr Sandell suffered lacerations to the face and right hand, and Mr Compton suffered head injuries and shock. After receiving treatment at the scene of the accident by Dr. C. D. Shand, of Kaikoura, the injured men were taken by ambulance to the Kaikoura Hospital and admitted. Their condition tonight was reported to be satisfactory.
