PRESIDENT OF LEBANON
New Election To Be Held BEIRUT, June 5. The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament today called all Deputies to a Parliamentary sessionon July 24 to elect a new President. Parliamentary sources said. The opposition has been insisting on the resignation of the proWestern President. Dr. Camille Chamoun. Reports of plans to amend the constitution to allow him to seek a second term were followed by the present crisis and armed revolt. Undei the Lebanese Constitution. a new President must be elected two full months before the expiry of the ruling President’s term of office —in the case of President Chamoun on September 23.
