N.Z. DX RADIO ASSOCIATION
25th Anniversary This Year
The ' 25th anniversary of the formation of the New Zealand DX Radio Association will be celebrated this Easter at Dunedin—where the annual meeting of the association's headquarters will be held. Two major branches of the original DX Club, Canterbury and Otago, formed the nucleus of the association and were operating as early as 1932. The decision to form the association was made in a railway carriage at Timaru on New Year’s ay, 1933, when representatives from Christchurch and Dunedin met and drafted a constitution. The oldest DX club in the world, the Newark News Radio Club, United States, has been in continuous operation for 30 years. The celebrations at Dunedin will include a dinner and social evening and special broadcasts from local stations. Officers elected at the annual meeting of the Canterbury branch of the association were:—
President, Mr R. Killick; vicepresident, Mr E. Watson; secretary, Mr A. Harbott; competitions judge and log keeper, Mr R. Killick; committee, Messrs L. Gilmour, and D. White; delegates to annual meeting of headquarters of association, Messrs E. W. Watson and R. Gray.
