PLANS FOR BALI HA’I

Sandroll Alongside Deck Box •‘The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, March 7. Bali Ha’i will leave New Zealana for England in about a fortnight. Formerly owned by Sir Ernest Davis, of Auckland, the horse was given to Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, after he had won the St. James Cup at the Royal Welcome meeting at Trentham on February 8. Since then, Bali Ha’i has been resting at his stable in Takanini, and is due in Wellington in two weeks’ time to be loaded for shipment. He will travel on deck in the usual type of box in which horses are transported by sea, but Sir; Ernest Davis has arranged for ,a sand roll to be constructed nearby, with a boarded walk from his I box so that Bali Ha’i can clean himself on days when the weather is suitable. The sand roll to the horse is what the bathtub is to the human, and such a luxury is something new for horses in long-distance transportation. Landau Filly Tops Sale (N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) , MELBOURNE, March 7. The highest price of the series. 3100gns., was paid for a filly by Landau from Alaminto at the Newmarket yearling sales yesterday.
