U.S. AID FOR POLAND
Farm Surplus Agreement

The United States and. Poland today signed an agreement in Washington extending 98m dollars worth of American economic aid to Poland.
The agreement, signed at the State Department, provided for the sale of 73m dollars worth of surplus United States farm products for Polish zlotys, instead of for dollars. It also established an ExportImport Bank credit of 25m dollars for the purchase of industrial machinery, medical equipment, synthetic fibres and other itemj.
This was the second United States economic aid agreement with Poland. Last year, 95m dollars worth of aid was given in a move interpreted as support and encouragement for the independent Communist regime of the Polish Prime. Minister: Mr Gomulka.
