Christchurch Drivers
Sir,—“Wellingtonian’s” criticism of the condition of Christchurch city streets is fully justified. In all parts of the city there are many miles of roads in a deplorable condition. The apparent lack of effort to effect improvement is disconcerting. It would be interesting to know the length resealed during 1957. expressed as a percentage of the total length of city streets. —Yours, etc., MOTORIST. January 8, 1958.
[The Town Clerk (Mr H; S. Feast) commented. —“I would draw the correspondent’s attention to a report on the subject submitted to the council by the City Engineer on January 27, and fully reported in ‘The Press’ on the following day.”!
