SUBURBAN GAMES
No Play On Saturday
No matches were played in the Christchurch City and Suburban Cricket Association’s competitions on Saturday. It had earlier been decided to play no matches in the senior grade, as a mark of respect to Mr R. Wilson, a member of the Waltham dub, who was killed in a motor accident on Thursday. No Waltham teams through the grades were to take the field either. On Saturday, it was decided that play in all grades should be abandoned, because of the state of the wickets in some districts. Senior and second grade matches, which were to have been played last Saturday and this, will now become one-day matches. In the third, mercantile, and under--15 grades, which play one-day matches, the matches set‘down for last Saturday will not be played.
