Leaders Face Defeat At Wellington

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Februaiy 16, Both leading teams in the Wellington senior cricket competition, Karorl and Midland, appear likely to face defeats in the series of fixtures which began yesterday. Conditions were good for batting, but apart from a century by J. W. Clarke (Wellington) and 89 by D. R. Lark (Onslow), scoring was not as free as had been expected. Details:—

Wellington 310 for seven wickets declared (T. G. McMahon 56 run out, J. W. Clarke 105 not out) met University 55 for two wickets. Wellington College Old Boys 191 (P. Young 45, B. D. Morrison five for 56) met Karori, 80 for six. Onslow 231 (W. R. Heatherwick 56 run out, D. R. Lark 89 run out) met St. Patrick’s Old Boys, 69 for five. Midland 148 (T. S. Malloch five for 37) met Kilblmie (B. W. Sinclair 77) 152 for five.
