FLIGHT OVER S.I. TOWNS
Itinerary For N.A.C. Viscount (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 21. Mr J. J. Busch, general manager of the National Airways Corporation said today demonstration flights round New Zealand with The Vickers Viscount City of Wellington were proposed if it were possible. Unfortunately, due to the late arrival of the aircraft in New Zealand, these flights would be carried out only after all training had been completed and it would be impossible to give more than a day’s notice of the intended itinerary.
A provisional date of Thursday, January 23, was set for the Viscount to fly over centres south of Christchurch. The approximate time over various centres would be: Ashburton, 11.20 a.m.; Timaru, 11.30 a.m.; Oamaru, 11.50 a.m.; Dunedin, 12.15 p.m.; Balclutha, 12.35 p.m.; Gore, p.m.; and Invercargill, 1 p.m. ?
