Town Planning
Sir,—“Susan” says Los Angeles “is a regular Topsy of a village that just growed.” Worried citizens told her the only solution would be “to tear the place down and start all over.” “Susan” counselled “lovely Auckland to take care; this could happen to you.” Would her warning not equally fit Christchurch? Has not lack of “care” already led to troubles for the city and citizens who seemingly must put up with results. Any complaints have been regarded as feckless rather than worthy of attention to ensure that similar difficulties do not multiply. —Yours, etc., CONSTRUCTIVE ATTITUDE. January 21, 1958.
