Trouble Over Expenses (N.Z Press Association—Copy ng Ml (Rec. 9 p.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 21. Senior tennis stars today placed a virtual boycott on this year's overseas tour by an Australian team. Both Ashlfey Cooper and Mai Anderson have informed the Lawn Tennis Association of Australia selectors that they are reconsidering their availability. Yesterday, when approached by the selectors, they informed them that they were available for the tour, which would embrace the French, Wimbledon, and the United States championships and last Ave months The players are irate at the association's finance committee's recommendation that the association prune the expenses of the players while they are in America. The finance committee is recommending that the players in future receive five dollars a day allowance of 25 dollars a day paid by the U.S.L.T.A to the Australian association for each player. The Australian singles champion. Ashley Cooper, said this afternoon that, he and Fraser were reconsidering their decisions. He said: "I am most upset by this decision and I have no further faith in Australian officials. When we met the L.T.A.A officials in Melbourne in December the players were told that expenses would be increased. “The first thing they have done is cut them down. So far as I am concerned I can't bring myself to believe them any more, no. matter what they say ” There are doubts whether Mai Anderson will go on tour, while Roy Emerson and Mervyn Rose are considered unlikely to tour with the official team Rose already has told officials that he is not available, and Anderson, who married recently, also is keen to make a private tour.
