REDCLIFFS CAVE EXCAVATIONS
Leading New Zealand archaeologists who began digging yesterday in the moa-bone cave at Redcliffs have already uncovered evidence of Von Haast’s excavations more than 100 years ago. One of the archaeologists, Miss S. M. Davis of the Dominion Museum, Wellington, said that if they could find an area which had* been untouched over the centuries there should be a wealth of material there. At present most of the archaeologists are digging in soil containing shell and bone.
