Mr David Exley To Go To Egypt
(Rec. 8 p.m.) NEW YORK, January 8.
Mr David Exley, a former New Zealand newspaperman who was liaison officer to Sir Leslie Munro during his Presidency of the United Nations General Assembly, is due to return to his post in Egypt on March 1, it was learned today.
Mr Exley will resume his duties as press' officer to Major-General E. L. M. Burns, Commander-in-Chief of the United Nations Emergency Force.
He was recalled to New York last year to join Sir Leslie Munro’s personal staff. Before going ‘to Egypt, Mi Exley was for some time accreditations officer in the Department of Public Information of the United Nations. He will leave New York next Saturday on his way to New Zealand for home leave before returning to Egypt.
A Lyttelton businessman who inserted a small advertisement in “The Press” yesterday received a quick response. He advertised to let a holiday house at Waikuku for a short period.. By 7 a.m. yesterday he had let the house, by telephone, to a Christchurch man.
