Situation: A ridge of high pressure is extending from an anti-cyclone over the Tasman Sea on to the South Island. Forecast:. — Coastal Marlborough: Fresh southerlies at first, soon decreasing and becoming variable; a few showers early, but becoming fair, with moderate day temperatures. Outlookfair.

Canterbury and inland Marlborough: Light or moderate variable winds, with north-easterlies about the coast; some cloudy areas with a few light showers early about North Canterbury, otherwise becoming gefierally fair,' with moderate day temperatures. Outlook: mainly fair, but cloud increasing. ’
