N.Z. EXPEDITION’S HUSKIES
Some To Be Brought Back
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 9.
Some of the New Zealand Antarctic expedition’s huskies would be brought back to the Dominion, said the chairman of the Ross Sea Committee (Mr C. M. Bowden) to-night. The dogs were not all “under sentence of death,” as had been previously stated, Mr Bowdefi said. “Every endeavour is being made to facilitate the return of some of the huskies, but just how many is not known yet,” he added. It was understood that some dogs would go to the Auckland and Wellington zoos. It was probable that some members of the expedition would want to bring the huskies back to New Zealand. Dr. George Marsh had already expressed his wish to do so, and arrangements would be made for this.
