Scurvy
Sir, —R.S. resorts to sarcasm—often the refuge of the defeated. It avails little, particularly when the unconscious anaesthesia which is a feature of the disease (cancer) is no more, and the body is racked with what is probably the worst pain, on earth. When medical science knows the cause of this unconscious anaesthesia—and there is a simple explanation—and the part played by the skin in its production, the way will be paved for the prevention of this disease. —Yours, etc., M. G. DAVIES. January 5, 1958.
