“Until They Sail”
Sir,—l am surprised that Christchurch people are taking an insulting picture like ‘‘Until They Sail” with so much apathy. Noone has protested. There are no scenes of Christchurch, the garden city, just simply a garish photo of the Cathedral, and a little of the Square flashed on, and then— America. None of the American actresses even tried to talk like New Zealand girls. Only two New Zealand boys are represented (by Americans) and they are made to look fools, one of them simply a hideous clod of humanity. In fact we are all ridiculed and all fall under the spell of the irresistible Marines. Our commodities and our way of life also came under fire. And our girls, yes all of them, were thrown on the muck heap—Yours, etc.,
