DISARMAMENT ATTITUDE
Disagreement Seen In U.S. WASHINGTON. Dec. 27. Mr Harold Stassen, President Eisenhower’s disarmament adviser, is pressing the United States Government to make new disarmament proposals to the Soviet Union, the United Press said today. However, it said, the Secretary of State (Mr Dulles) was reported to be sceptical about the likelihood of reaching an acceptable agreement with the Soviet Union in the near future.
Officials predicted that the apparent disagreement would get a thorough review early next month by President Eisenhower and the National Security Council, the United Press said. The outcome might determine whether the United States makes a serious effort to open new disarmament negotiations.
