River Trip On Raft
Mr Fred Cookson, aged 50, of Auckland, is now making good progress in his trip down the Wanganui river on a bamboo raft. Fifteen miles down the river he found, his raft was not quite buoyant enough, but sitice fixing six inflated motor tubes to it has had no trouble. A student of Maori history, he is stopping at places of interest on the way.— (P.A.)
