VIOLENCE IN CYPRUS
Three Explosions, Two Deaths (Rec. 11 p.m.) NICOSIA, December 27. Three explosions near Nicosia last night broke the lull which followed the recent appeals by the Governor, Sir Hugh Foot, for an end to violence in Cyprus. Two explosions occurred at a military camp occupied by the Ist Battalion of the Gloucester Regiment, and a third explosion was reported at the Turkish hamlet of Mandres, just outside Nicosia. Neither damage nor casualties were caused. With the reports of the explosion last night, came the news of the murder of two Cypriot Greeks. At the Northern Cyprus village of Ayios Ambrosios, a villager Vassilis Michael, aged 40, was beaten to death. Near Famagusta, in East Cyprus, Andreas Epiphaniol, aged 22, was •tabbed outside his house.
