Permission Given By Lvttelton Council i Permission to hold street election meetings and to display ban-! ners during November was given to the Labour Party Inter-branch Council by the Lyttelton Borough Council at its meetinglast evening The Canterbury. The council decided that no parking be permitted on the hall area and that notices to this effect be erected. The council refused permission for a mobile ice cream caravan to be operated on the Governor's Bay road. The danger of the crossing at the intersection of Brittan terrace, Voelas road and Cressy terrace was the subject of a letter received from the West Lyttelton school committee. The committee | asked that the council consider making the crossing safer. A reso-1 lution was carried, instructing the! traffic committee to consider the! erection of a compulsory stop sign at the lower end of Cressy terrace.
