Supplies Dropped To Weather Station
(New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, September 1. Urgently - required generator parts for the operation of radar, radio, meteorological equipment, mail and food were successfully dropped at Campbell Island, 370 miles south of Invercargill, by a Civil Aviation Administration DC-3 aircraft on Saturday. The drop was the first made at Campbell Island by Civil Aviation aircraft. Previous drops have been made by the Royal New Zealand Air .Force.
