Premier Appeals To Frenchmen
(Rec. 8 p.m.) PARIS, Aug. 31. The Prime Minister Mr Maurice Bourges-Maunoury, had appealed in a nation-wide television appearance to all Frenchmen to accept austerity- until the ‘ country’s finances were in order, according to the American Associated Press. “Never has it been so necessary to warn Frenchmen and put them on their guard against the dangers of certain movements of discontent and impatience,” he said. The Prime Minister insisted that the future prospects for the French economy were good.
