BABY KILLED
Truck And Car Collide A seven-months-old baby was killed and four persons were injured on Saturday afternoon when a 15cwt truck and a light English car were involved in a collision at the intersection of Manchester and Cashel streets. The driver of the truck, Mr Wafu Cassidy, of 44 Fortune street, St. Albans, was slightly injured, but was not admitted to hospital. The baby was Robin Patrick McAtamneyj the son of Mr and Mrs V. N. McAtamney, 8, Division street, Riccarton. The grandparents of the child, Mr and Mrs A. W. Adams, the child’s mother and hiS sister, Mary McAtamney, aged 6, were all injured. After treatment at the Christchurch Public Hospital they Were all sent home, except Mrs Adams, who suffered numerous lacerations. The accident happened shortly after 2.25 p.m. Both vehicles were extensively damaged in the collision.
