Athletics Ibbotson’s Three Miles
(N.Z Press Association—Copyright) (Retc. 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 3. Derek Ibbotson won the threemile event today in the Great Bri-tain-France two-day athletics contest in London, but in the comparatively slow time of 13min 50.2 sec. Conditions were ideal, but Ibbotson did not appear to be eager to attempt a world record for this distance, as he had been confidently expected to do.
