Yachting N.Z. Crews To Sail In Britain
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 4. Three New Zealand 14ft international yachts and crews will compete in a series of international races in England next July.
Mr C. Power, vice-commodore of the Royal Akarana Yacht Club, in his annual report said that an invitation had been received from the Royal Yachting Association and that trials would be held in New Zealand to select the three crews next Easter.
Mr Power said the contest would be of great benefit to yachtsmen competing in future Olympic Games and because of this, it had been decided that the selection trials will be open to any New Zealand yachtsmen interested. The club committee had arranged for the yachts to be shipped at a reduced rate, said Mr Power. Finance for the crews was the next problem.
