TRAP SHOOTING
Methven Team Beats Ellesmere
The Methven Gun Club held a teams’ match with Ellesmere at the club traps on Saturday. Shooting conditions were good, and some excellent scores wire registered.
The teams’ match Shoot was won by Methven by 203 points to 197.
In a five-bird eye-opener. 33 shooters took part, and of these 17 shot the possible and divided the sweep.
In' a sweep run in conjunction with the teams’ match, the following shot the possible and divided the prize:—S. H. Anderson, D. S. Harrison, S. G. Holmes, A. Greenwood, and G. M. Doyle.
A trophy shoot of 20 birds attracted 33 entries, and of these the following shot the possible:—D. S. Harrison. G. M. Scott, E. C. Amyes. A. Greenwood, W. L. Gebbie, R. G. Allen, and D. Lilley. The shoot-off was won by A. Greenwood on the twenty-second bird. Thirty-six took part in a 10-bird match shoot. 10 shooting the possible and dividing the sweep. In a five-pair double rise, 29 took part. Of these R. G. Allen and B. Lilley shot nine birds, and G. M. Scott, M. Anderson, and R. G. Brown shot eight.
Thirty shooters took part in a 10bird gimcrack, and the following shot the possible and divided t’.-e, sweep:—S. H. Anderson, G. M. Scott. B. H. Anderson, W. Winchester, jun., L. H. Greenwood. B. Lilley, D. Lilley, and J. A. Dalton.
A second five-pair double rise, in which 26 took part, was won by L. H. Greenwood and R. G. Allen, who shot nine. The following shot eight birds - —W. J. Winchester, B. Doyle, B. Lilley, S. H. Anderson, and D. Lilley.
Twenty-six took part in a 10-bird gimcrack, with B. H. Anderson, R. G. Allen, and B. Lilley shooting the possible and dividing the sweep. A firat-miss-out wu won by D. Maw.
