Mrs T. Green, a member of the North Canterbury Hospital Board for 30 years, was yesterday presented with a framed' photograph of the first meeting of the board in its new board room in recognition of her long service. Particular mention was made of her service on the benevolent committee, of which she is chairman.

Mrs H. J. Timms gave a talk on her recent visit to Honolulu and America at a meeting of the year circle of the Canterbury Women’s Club. Fifty per cent, of all sheep in New Zealand were infected with hydatids and one patient entered hospital every week with the disease, said Miss M. Farquhar, a‘ Health Department education officer, whp Showed a film and gave a talk on hydatids to the Christchurch Business and Professional Wpraen’s Club last evening. McDowall; secretary, Mrs J. J. Gorman; treasurer, Mrs J. D. Meechin; magazine secretary, Mrs A. Wilson; choir leader, Mrs R. Ayling; committee, Mesdames C. Mitchell, H. Falkingham, N.
