(Rec. 11 p.m.) WASHINGTON, March 3. Israel would proceed with plans to withdraw her troops from the Gaza Strip and the Gulf of Aqaba, in spite of the eleventh hour flurry of diplomatic activity in Washington on Saturday, according to authoritative sources, a Reuter correspondent reported. He said that the news from Jerusalem that Israel wanted further clarification of the United States position before undertaking the withdrawal created pessimism on Saturday. On Saturday evening, however, after a conference between Mr Abba Eban. the Israeli Ambassador. and Mr Dulles, much of Washington's confidence about progress was re-established.
