Installation Possible In Australia (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Dec. 12. Automatic insurance salesmen look as if they will take their place soon among the ever-growing number of Australian slot machines. A Melbourne firm of insurance brokers is seeking rights to install slot machines selling Lloyd’s personal accident insurance in all major Australian airport lounges. The brokers are also interested in installing machines at key service stations to cover motorists and their families against road accidents.
The. type of insurance planned gives a death cover of £lOOO for each 2s placed in the slot for seven days, 24 hours a day. It includes world-wide cover on all flying as a passenger by regular airline services.
Australian airline officials are understood to be reluctant about the idea, on the grounds it might weaken public confidence in airline transport.
