RELIEF FUND FOR HUNGARY
£20,000 RAISED IN NEW ZEALAND
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 18. More than £20,000 had been given to the New Zealand Red Cross for the Hungarian relief fund, and money was still coming in, said the secretarygeneral (Mr M. S. Galloway) yesterMr Galloway appealed for further help, and said it was money that was wanted, as everything needed for relief could be bought on the spot in Europe. \ CORSO has sent £5OO to the International Red Cross at Geneva for the relief of refugees from Hungary. Announcing this yesterday the Dominion secretary of CORSO (Mr G. Morrison) said CORSO expected that some of the clothing from recent clothes drives in New Zealand, sent through the World Council of Churches, would be made available to Hungarian refugees. A challenge to farmers profiting from the increased wool prices has been issued' by a Wellsford sheepfarmer. Mr R. P. Chatelanat. He has instructed his Auckland brokers to deduct Friday’s increase on the price he received at last month’s sales, and to send the amount direct to the International Red Cross for Hungarian and Arab civilian relief.
