Cinema Revenue alls.— British cinemas are still losing public favour to television, according to Board of Trade figures. The decline in attendances continued in the second quarter of 1956. when cinemas sold 279.000.000 tickets, 9 per cent fewer than for the second quarter of 1955. They took a gross revenue of £25,400,000. more than 7 per cent, less than for the corresponding quarter of last ear.—London. October 18.
