INNOVATIONS AT TRENTHAM
£30,000 Spent On Improvements EXTRA FACILITIES FOR PUBLIC (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 5. A women’s and escorts’ bar, increased space in the public bar, and hot meals for 5s are innovations at Trentham racecourse the public will enjoy on Saturday, the first day of the Wellington Racing Club winter meeting. More than <£30,000 has been spent by the club in the last three or four months in improvements, and additional facilities for the public. A special diesel engine has been installed at a cost of about £lO,OOO to provide electricity required for the additional amenities. The engine will be used for all future meetings, ensuring that the demand for power from the course foes not add to the demand on State hydroelectric generating sources.
