NORTH AMERICAN CLUB
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED Independence Day and Canada’s Do- ! minion Day (July 1) were celebrated i on Wednesday by the North American Club. A festive atmosphere was created by the display of the Union Jack, Ameri- > can and Canadian flags, and a genuine American “cigar store Indian.”
Mr Happi Hill proposed the toasts, and introduced the club’s patron, Mr If. G. Miller, and Mrs Miller, who have recently returned from a visit to America. Sixty members were present.
