CORSO
Sir,—That CORSO was stated in “The Press” yesterday to have given last year £500.000 cash for overseas relief, plus goods to that value,, is not your representative’s fault but that ox the speaker he was reporting, who could not have clearly enough distinguished between pounds money and pounds weight. Actually th* N**’ land people gave through CORSO last year, to unfortunate people or good causes abroad, £510.000 value in goods of many sorts. This included oyer 500.000 garments and approaching 500.000 pounds weight of milk powder and other supplies. The amount New Zealanders gave to CORSO in money was about £64oo °X7^ June 29, 1956.
