CROQUET
CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION ELECTS OFFICERS The Canterbury Croquet Association, through the help given by all clubs, raised the second largest sum towards sending the New Zealand croquet team to England, where five test matches will be played for the Macßobertson shield, said the annual report of the association. Inter-club regulations were revised at the annual meeting. Games will now be played under the standard New Zealand grading.
A presentation was made to Mr W. H. Kirk, team manager, and Mrs W. H. Kirk, who is one of the New Zealand test players. Officers were elected as follows:—President. Mrs G. Smithson: vice-presidents. Mesdames W. Turner, W. H. Kirk, and H. Nettleton; Secretary-Treasurer, Mrs S. F. Marshall; assistant secretary, Mrs T. B. Grant; handicapper, MYs R. F. Kellaway; assistant handicapper, Mrs E. Todd; referee, Mr W. H. Kirk; publicity officer, Mr H. Nettleton: tournament committee, Mesdames E. Todd, T. B. Grant. W. Turner, and F. Gurnsey; toyrnament manager. Mrs Nettleton; assistant manager, Mrs A. Payne.
The senior tournament will be held at the United lawns in February. The junior tournament will be held at the St. Martins lawns, commencing 10 days after the senior tournament.
