MARUIA SPRINGS BATHS
Sir, —The Maruia Hot Springs swimming bath and small baths should be a great help to rheumatic sufferers. I recall Nelson and Canterbury people about 23 years ago using the horse track from either side of the Lewis Pass to the hot pools at the foot of the mountain on the north side of the river in the Nelson district. For the modern baths under construction I suggest that rings be recessed in all cement walls of the baths, with a rope or chain as a safety precaution for feeble people. I know several rheumatic sufferers who are waiting for the new baths.—Yours, etc., June 7, 1956.
