MILK PIPELINE
(N.Z Press Association —Copyright)
(Rec. 10 p.m.) GENEVA, June 7. Milk will flow this summer down the Swiss Alps by pipeline. Dairy owners faced for years with the problem of getting the milk from the mountain pastures to the dairies and cheesemakers during the summer when the herds graze in the mountains have decided to use a pipeline. Four miles of plastic line will be strung from a central mountain dairy to a milk collection point in the Alps above the town of St. Martin. When not being used for milk, the line will bring fresh spring water to the valley.
