ST. NICHOLAS HOUSE DEDICATED
NEW HOME FOR CURATE OF SYDENHAM
The Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) dedicated the curate’s residence of St. Nicholas’ Church, in the parish of Sydenham, on Sunday afternoon. The Bishop was assisted by the vicar of Sydenham (Archdeacon S. E. Woods) arid the curate of St. Nicholas’ Church (the Rev. R. A. Lowe). During the dedication service, which was attended by about 250 persons, the Bishop, clergy and church wardens inspected the house.
The Mayor of Christchurch (Mr R. M. Macfarlane, M.P.) and Mrs Macfarlan.e were present at/ the ceremony. Singing was led by choirs of St. Saviour’s Church and of St. Nicholas’ Church.
The new curate’s residence, which is situated in >Barrington street, is known as St. Nicholas’ House.
Bouquets were presented to Mrs Macfarlane, Mrs A. K. Warren, Mrs S. E. Woods and Mrs R. A. Lowe. Afternoon tea was served by women members of the two churches.
